A new dawn for sightseeing tours in Queensland

Sightseeing Gladstone

In the lead-up to the first-ever cruise ship arrival in Gladstone, Buslink Queensland was approached by tour operators associated with P&O Cruise Liners to conduct local and surrounding city sight tours.

The Pacific Dawn docked at Auckland Point in Gladstone on Thursday morning with 2,000 passengers on board. The passengers spent about eight hours in Gladstone with many opting to stretch their legs and experience the local community.

Brett Wilkins, our Buslink Manager in Gladstone, remarked that “our drivers in Gladstone are all locals and are fiercely proud of their town and the surrounding countryside. The drivers were able to provide passengers with a running commentary and interesting information relating to Gladstone and its history”.

The feedback we received was terrific, with many passengers commenting that they did not realise Gladstone had such a ‘tropical, oasis feel about it’. And, our drivers really enjoyed showing their local town to visitors.

There are sixteen port arrivals planned for the 2016/17 year with the Pacific Jewel the next to visit on March 20, 2016 with more boats arriving shortly afterwards. We plan to continue providing services to cruise ship passengers on even longer tours to showcase the gems Queensland has to offer.
