Business Development Manager | Queensland

We are seeking a talented Business Development Manager to join our Queensland team based in the beautiful Sunshine Coast. This is a position in a business that continues to grow within Queensland.

Reporting to the General Manager Queensland, the purpose of the Business Development Manager is to partner with multiple internal departments and team members to drive business growth, implement effective sales strategies that expand our reach, strengthen client relationships, and support our operations teams. Based in Kunda Park, Buderim, the Business Development Manager is expected to actively seek out business opportunities which boost revenue and reputation and set our company apart from others.

To be considered for this role, you have:

Experience

  • Previous experience in corporate and government business development, contract negotiation, tendering, marketing, sales, customer relationship building and management
  • Understanding of the public transport industry and charter management highly desirable
  • Proven record of sales growth demonstrating strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques.

Skills

  • Ability to create and maintain a detailed CRM and customer nurture sequences
  • An understanding of strategic contract and tender practices
  • Literate in commercial contract conversation
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • ⁠Organisational skills to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to be flexible, demonstrate initiative and work effectively under pressure
  • ⁠Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sharp negotiation and networking skills.

General Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Develop, execute, and oversee a business development strategy that prioritises growth and positive customer relationships
  • Monitor sales progress to ensure corporate goals and budgets are being met
  • Proposal development
  • Willingness and ability to travel both within QLD and interstate
  • Monitor and follow up debtors
  • Respond to charter related customer complaints
  • Conduct high-level industry research to develop effective business growth
  • Promote the company and charter services to prospective clients
  • Participate in collaborative business meetings to update management and key stakeholders
  • Provide continuous constructive and professional feedback to the operations team / drivers and customer service
  • Review charter contracts to ensure we are compliant and all expectations are being met
  • Work with the marketing department to develop client and business promotional material
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline highly desirable
  • Relevant state Driver Authority.
