Code of Conduct
To make sure everyone’s journey is safe and enjoyable, all students are expected to follow the Code of Conduct for School Students Travelling on Buses. This sets out how students behave while on the bus and explains what happens if the code is not followed.
The Code of Conduct is supported by the Safe Travel of School Students Guiding Principles, which outlines the roles of bus operators, parents, schools, and other key partners. We support Translink’s aim to educate students about respectful travel and quickly address any issues that arise.
The Bus Safety Committee, chaired by the Assistant Minister for Transport, oversees the code. The committee includes representatives from government, the bus industry, unions, parent groups, and non-government schools, all working together to ensure safe and smooth travel for students.
