Public transport fares in Queensland are set by the Queensland Government.
How to Buy Tickets
In Gladstone, Rockhampton and Yeppoon, you can buy a paper ticket on the bus with cash. Please try to have the exact fare or small change ready to help the driver.
50 Cent Fares
From 5 August, for six months, all public transport fares in Queensland will be a flat 50 cents per journey for six months, no matter how many zones you travel. During this period, 50 per cent concession fares will not apply.
The 50 cent fare is available on select Translink routes, including:
- Gladstone: Routes 500, 501, 502, 503, 504, 505, 506, 510
- Rockhampton and Yeppoon: Routes 440, 441, 442, 444, 445, 446, 447, 448, 450, 451.
Ticket Options
Single, daily and weekly options are available across Gladstone, Rockhampton and Yeppoon.

School students in Gladstone, Rockhampton, Yeppoon and the Sunshine Coast who do not qualify for a bus pass can enjoy 50 cent fares.
Concessions
The following groups and cardholders continue to receive free travel (eligibility and conditions apply):
- Children under five years
- TPI/EDA Veteran Travel card
- Vision Impairment Travel Pass
- Translink Access Pass
- go access Travel Trainer card
- One companion of carer travelling with a Companion Card holder who has a valid ticket for travel.

Fare Evasion
Fare evasion is a serious offence across all public transport services, including trains, buses, and private hire vehicles, like taxis. Passengers are required to:
- Pay the full fare for their journey
- Travel only within the allowed distance
- Carry proof of eligibility if travelling on a concession fare.
