Today we remember and honour the memory of well-loved team member Lleyton Bartlett.
Lleyton joined CDC South East Queensland in 2016 for his school work experience, which he completed with our workshop team.
After finishing school, he remained with the company, where he completed his heavy diesel mechanical apprenticeship in December 2021. He worked at CDC’s four Sunshine Coast depots and on top of being an excellent mechanic, he was the first person to greet the drivers as they arrived for shifts each morning.
Outside of work, Lleyton enjoyed chasing life’s adventures and playing hockey with his local club, progressing from junior and senior teams to regional representative player.
He is remembered for his bubbly personality, described as an all-round great guy with a heart of gold and unforgettable laugh.
Lleyton will be laid to rest today in a funeral to be held in Buderim.
To honour and remember Lleyton, CDC’s drivers will leave their lights on from the start to the finish of operations today. CDC is encouraging all bus drivers to join in and shine their lights today to honour and remember Lleyton.
