Buslink Queensland gains OH&S Accreditation

We take the protection of our employees very seriously. To make sure they work in a safe and secure environment and provide the best health and safety training that’s relevant and up-to-date is our continuing goal. It is fundamental to the success of our business.

For the last 18 months our compliance team at Buslink Queensland has worked very hard to help us achieve our AS/NZ 4801:2001 Occupational Health & Safety accreditation, which is the benchmark for OH&S management systems.

Our commitment to the pursuit of excellence in safety management was demonstrated when the Board of Directors approved a rigorous achievement program in OH&S, which was rolled out at Buslink Queensland in 2013.

Our OH&S management system was scrutinised and tested at various points by an independent auditor, SAI Global. These audits focused on the OH&S policies, procedures and objectives and how these are established, monitored, executed and reviewed. We were pleased that the auditor’s report commented that our operations were well managed and that our risk management system was an advantage to the company.

Buslink Queensland General Manager, Bertram Birk, was very impressed with the way his implementation team worked hard to achieve this accreditation. He also said,

“Our investment in an on-line Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) management system means we can measure our activity and are well positioned to achieve the highest levels of compliance in all areas. Our commitment to lead in this area will help us to provide a bus service that is second to none in the Australian market.”
