Go Noosa Contract Awarded To CDC South East Queensland

CDC South East Queensland’s buses have hit the streets under the Go Noosa free bus and ferry transport program operating until 26 January 2021.

CDC Queensland CEO, Tony Hopkins said the company had been awarded the contract under the Noosa Council free buses program, which was designed to enhance the visitor experience and reduce traffic congestion during the busy summer holiday period.

“CDC Queensland drivers and buses will operate Council’s Go Noosa Loop Bus service, Route 065 – a free shuttle continuously looping around inner Noosa – as well as Route 064, a temporary summer service introduced to operate free-of-charge between Peregian Beach and Noosa’s Hastings Street.

“We are thrilled to be part of the Go Noosa program, and for the additional employment opportunities this brings to local staff at our Noosa depot, which will now operate seven days a week over the holiday period.

“This includes maintaining our vehicles to the highest hygiene standards as we continue our strict cleaning regime and sanitisation practices as part of COVID-19 safety measures.

“Thirty drivers attended a Tourism Noosa ‘Welcome to Noosa’ training session yesterday in preparation for delivering a memorable experience and quality service across a bumper tourist season,” Mr Hopkins said.

Departing Hastings Street bus interchange every 15 minutes from 7am to 7pm, the Go Noosa Loop Bus will service stops along Noosa Drive, Weyba Road and Noosa Parade, and will run half-hourly from 7-11pm.
