Buslink is very happy to report on very successful passenger transport operations on Sunday 8th April in Gladstone for the region’s first ever NRL Telstra Premiership game. Game day commenced with an Intrust Super Cup game at 11:45am, between the Central Queensland Capras and Burleigh Bears, with the NRL Titans vs Sea Eagles game kicking off at 2:00pm.
The game attracted more than 5000 local keen supporters to the Marley Brown Oval, of which Buslink helped with transportation on the day. Buslink are proud to report that the day was a huge success, as echoed by fellow community members.
“From all accounts, the public transport on the day went very smoothly. There were no concerns from passengers and they commended us on the planning that you did. Well done to you and your team! The amount of positive feedback that is channeling through is incredible.” Brigitte James from Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Limited said.
And this from Eva D, a member of the public and attendee of the game “I would just like to congratulate you on the way your public transport went at the NRL footy. We parked our car at the botanical gardens and caught the bus to the ground and back again it worked extremely well. Thank you.”
This was a massive win for the Gladstone Region, which now hope to see Gladstone on the regular fixture for future games. Matt Burnett, the town Mayor was reported saying “People came from all over Central Queensland to watch the match, meet the players and attend the clinics, we definitely have the numbers to regularly host future NRL games here.”
Congratulations Buslink Gladstone on a job well done!
